The AQPP’s 2010 promotional campaign celebrates the expertise of pharmacists

Montréal, February 11, 2010 — “It’s time we saluted pharmacists whose extensive knowledge of medications makes our lives much easier.” The objective of the 2010 campaign by the Association québécoise des pharmaciens propriétaires is clear: to honour pharmacists for the work they do.

An essential health professional

With extensive knowledge of medications, their effects and their interactions, pharmacists are health professionals who play a critical role in our society. Available and accessible, they make daily contributions to the population’s well being.

A three-pronged campaign

Television spots
During prime time in February and March, the large Francophone networks and specialized channels will air televised spots that will for the first time be re broadcast in English on Anglophone networks.

Special newspaper insert and advertisements
During Pharmacist Awareness Week, which takes place between March 8 and 12, a special insert will be published in the La Presse daily newspaper, containing different themes that feature the expertise of pharmacists, the importance of their role as health professionals in the community, and their availability and accessibility. Advertisements will be published in the La Presse, Le Soleil, Le Nouvelliste, Le Droit and La Tribune daily newspapers, as well as in the Métro newspaper, which is distributed across Montréal’s public transit network.

An even more extensive Internet presence
MeAndMyPharmacist.ca will now be the official public site of the AQPP. MeAndMyPharmacist.ca has been online for more than four years and is now more user-friendly than ever, with a brand-new look for the launch of the 2010 promotional campaign and extensive information for the general public. Please note that the new French version of the site is available at Monpharmacien.ca.
