Your pharmacist keeps valuable information about your condition and any medications you use in your patient file. This information is extremely useful, but it is only kept by the pharmacist who normally treats you.
Your patient file is confidential. The pharmacist can only reveal its content without your permission in an emergency where you are unable to do so.

When you travel, keep the contact information for your regular pharmacy with you. If you take other medications while travelling or your medical condition changes, the health professionals you meet can rapidly communicate with the pharmacist who holds your file. Together, they can make better decisions about your health.
